Today's Most Important is an ode to being happily lazy because we had a VERY busy day yesterday and are doing nothing but laze today and it feels good. Speaking of lazy (not really a great segue but) I didn't even realize Franz Ferdinand were still making music. I kinda only knew "Take Me Out" until recently. Totally lame to admit though, as Wikipedia schools me they've been consistently releasing albums (last week's Always Ascending is their fifth) and even participated in a big, anti-Trump, 50-song promo in 2016. Whoops, my bad, but still somehow I was excited when I started hearing tracks from this album and found out they're touring here this May. Anyways, hope y'all are enjoying your Sunday in whatever way feels good to you.
Allison Crutchfield - Dean's Room
There was something overwhelmingly familiar about this singer when this song came up on my Discover Weekly recently so of course I had to research. Turns out she's the sister of Waxahatchee lead, Katie. Allison & Katie have done all sorts of work together and separate in the DIY/Indie scene, most notably the band P.S. Eliot. This song comes from Allison's debut solo album with Merge Records - came out one year ago (January '17). Happy to make your acquaintance, sis, and welcome to TMIS.

Caroline Rose - Getting To Me
I almost featured Caroline Rose a few weeks back, as I've been loving "Money" a rocking, fast-paced and jaunty cut. Today's Most Important, "Getting To Me" is a special song, and it's quite a bit different to "Money". It sounds like Andrew Bird backing Kate Bush. No really. Give it a listen. She's got a new album coming soon and will be in Austin for SXSW, so if you're around, let's go check her set!
