We're spending the whole weekend in Nashville and though we're not huge country music fans, we can appreciate that a lot of good music comes from and through Music City. Today's MIS comes from an Iowa indie band if we're getting technical, but was featured on the last episode of CMT's hit TV show "Nashville" so I think it's a perfect compromise. Lead singer Dana Halferty also does a slow, beautiful cover of "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" - if you want to check that out it's on SoundCloud & below.

Death Bells - Only You
Let's keep it moody, shall we? Death Bells are a shoegaze (dream pop, emo, etc.) outfit from Sydney, Australia, but their latest single, off their forthcoming album, Standing At The Edge Of The World, sounds like it was recorded for and in Scotland or some other gloomy-yet-romantic location. You can bet your melancholy ass they listened to Joy Division growing up. It's all good though, and I'm looking forward to more from them.

Upcoming Shows
Midlake - Roscoe
Stone cutters made them from stones
Chosen specially for you and I
Who will live inside
The mountaineers gathered timber
Piled high
In which to take along.
Driving many miles, knowing they'd get here.
I got to thinking about Midlake yesterday when writing up the post for Moss. Seeing as how they recently released the 10th-anniversary edition of their classic album The Trials of Van Occupanther, I figured it was time for a Most Important. There are many to choose from, but I'm going with the moody pioneer's song "Roscoe" as it's one of my personal favorites.
